Electrical System Development Engineer

Who we are:

NPROXX is a global leader in designing, developing and manufacturing Type 4 pressure vessels for the storage of hydrogen under high pressure. Based on 40-year experience in carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) products and systems in various industries NPROXX provides composite tank systems and tailor-made solutions for hydrogen storage applications: Transport and storage (up to 1000 bar), Heavy duty vehicles (350 bar), Automotive (700 bar).

NPROXX has its head office in Heerlen (the Netherlands) and its manufacturing organization in Jülich (Germany), in mid-2023 we relocate to Alsdorf (Germany). NPROXX, originally a split-off from Enrichment Technology Company (ETC), is presently an independent B.V., owned for 50% by ETC and for 50% by Cummins Inc.

Your tasks:

As an electrical system development engineer (technician) you oversee the design and implementation of our company processes. You will be responsible for specification and design of electrical/electronic components for hydrogen storage systems. You will support development and customer projects including assembly and maintenance of the complex NPROXX hydrogen storage systems.

Your responsibility includes preparation and  maintaining of product and process documents . Ultimately, your job is to maintain the efficiency of production in order to secure quality and reduce costs.
More concrete:

• Supports system development and series production in Alsdorf and Bremen.
• Specification and design of electrical/electronic components for hydrogen storage systems.
• Carrying out assembly and maintenance work on complex hydrogen storage systems.
• Support of development and customer projects in the field of hydrogen storage systems.
• Set up and validation of “Hardware in the Loop” systems.
• Prototype control unit programming.
• Programming and analysis of CAN systems.

 Your profile:

• Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar alternatively.
• Educated in mechatronics, electronics or comparable Professional degree as ‘Techniker or Meister’.
• 3+ years relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in on board networks of commercial or special vehicles, CAN and ECU programming
• Several years experience in control of hydraulic or pneumatic systems
• Knowledge in the field of hydraulics or pneumatics
• Knowledge in the areas EMV, ASIL, HIL and reliability growth methods
• Strong communication skills and highly analytical and decisive with the ability to build effective working relationships within a project organization.
• Seeking optimization and continuous improvement.
• Stress resistant and well organized, hands on, can do mentality.
• Good communication skills in English and German is required (spoken and written). Dutch is a plus.
• Experience in a start-up desirable (is a plus).
• Lives in the area or willing to relocate.
